History

Liberty Bank was formed in 1993 and officially opened for business in January of 1994. Liberty Bank was formed by a group of local businessmen that wanted to provide the marketplace with a banking alternative to the large regional banks that began buying the area's local community banks. In 1997 we expanded and added a branch in Godfrey. Liberty Bank experienced another growth spurt in 2006 through the purchase of First Community Bank of Godfrey and by opening a new branch in Bethalto. Our new multi-use facility in Bethalto opened in July 2008 replacing the original storefront and adding a slight twist to traditional banking by sharing the lobby with a restaurant and mail box store.

Today Liberty Bank is the only locally owned and operated community bank in the Alton / Godfrey marketplace. The vision of Liberty Bank then and now is to be an independent, locally owned, community bank serving the Riverbend area. Liberty Bank continues to be focused on being a leader in the communities we serve. Liberty Bank is committed to providing our customers with the best products and services at competitive prices.
